Emergencies & advice
Osteopathy allows to rebalance the human body around its great aplombs, on good supports, in a way specific to each morphology (people arched, with flat backs, or who are conversely arched, rectitudes, hyperlordoses, pronounced cyphoses …).But between sessions, we must be aware of the right positions to adopt in space in order to optimize this adaptation of the human body to the different situations in which we find ourselves, whether at work, during a move, at night, or during our sports activities.
TO RELIEVE PAIN (ACUTE):
The painful area corresponds to the inflamed area (even if it is an area rarely incriminated directly in the origin of the problem, notions of primary and secondary lesions), it will then first apply ice for about 15 minutes on this painful area (you will find in pharmacy pockets of blue gel … in any case do not apply the cold directly to the skin, use a towel), then let stand for about 10 minutes, the cold time to spread and act at the blood vessels (vasoconstriction for the elimination of toxins …), and finally apply for 5 minutes of the hot using a bouillote or a stream of hot water but powerful this time , around the painful area and never on it, in order to relax the muscles around the “lesion” …
You will end up with the generous application of a cryogel (which you will easily find in a pharmacy), an operation to be performed 2 to 3 times during the day and especially before bed. Your osteopath will give you all the posture advice to adopt during the night and will eventually offer you a complementary treatment based on capsules, such as arnica.

Daily advice:
Get to work…
Take breaks at least every 2 hours, even brief, to walk, perform some stretching, relaxing, loosening shoulders, make small rounds, then inhale by inflating the ribcage, stay 5 seconds in apnea and exhale completely.
At night…
Don’t sleep in a soft mattress that will block the body all night in the same position, but choose a hard mattress that will allow you to move during sleep, and will save you from being too arched for those who sleep on their stomachs.
IN SPORT…
Try to swim about 1000 meters per week, which corresponds to 20 lengths of an Olympic swimming pool, in free swimming (back, breaststroke, crawl), and with a board, first on the belly and then on the back. There are classes in all the pools at night, don’t hesitate!
After exercise, drink orange, strawberry or carrot drinks and consume vitamin C, all of which are rich in antioxidants, help eliminate free radicals, which you have formed by burning fat, and which are harmful to our bodies.
IN MAJOR EFFORTS…
If you need to move, or carry heavy loads, respect the permitted load limits (30 kg), think before acting, get as close to the load as possible, keep your back flat, flex your legs and lift with the strength of your thighs. Wearing a lumbar belt may sometimes be indicated.
IN TERMS OF YOUR DIET…
Eat a healthy and balanced diet (don’t hesitate to consult a nutritionist), both in terms of quality and quantity, with 3 meals a day, the evening meal should be lighter, remember to hydrate yourself sufficiently, rather between meals.
Good to know 😛 our people who get “cracked” joints, be it hands, shoulders, hips, knees …, it is essential to avoid this phenomenon which, in the long run will inevitably lead to wear and tear of cartilage, and osteoarthritis, by wear of the capsule that will no longer fulfill its role of protecting the joint cavity , and its weakening will cause the joint surfaces to be brought closer, which will eventually lead to joint pinching, and the implementation of the arthrosic process, with subchondrale hyperpressure geodes (“holes” at the bony extremities), the appearance of osteophytes (bone cals)…
